Songs in the Distance

Yesterday saw the start of the recordings of the new, mostly English album “Songs in the Distance” in the Moeshuis Studio, Soest. It is produced and presented by Edith Leerkes and Herman van Veen.

The title of this CD derives its name from a sentence out of an Anton Chekhov story. “Down below in the meadow the girls got up a round dance and sang songs... and in the distance the singing sounded soft and melodious.”

A tale in which it is clear that in every significant experience in life, music is present.

A world without is inconceivable.

Under this same title Herman and Edith will be giving concerts in London, New York and Tokyo this coming spring.

We’ll keep you informed.
